“Intérieur Contemporain” is a group show bringing together art, design and architecture across the three floors of the gallery -in a constant flow- where creativity emerges at the expense of predictable cultural uses and functions.

A multidisciplinary dialogue is established between the works on display, which do not seek to recreate an interior, but draw the viewer's interest towards a less formal and more emotional way of experiencing a domestic space. 

Armchairs, coffee tables, a bench and a multipurpose piece of furniture are all rigorously made of wood and have a visible structure. Architectural mock-ups evoke ambitious and intimate plans, and ceramic sculptures float in the space from the ceiling to the floor and to the first floor balcony. Large paper formats are used to represent characters overlapping iconic design furniture. Images of Brazilian interiors are reproduced by UV printing on concrete plates. A tabernacle covered in marble paper reveals a mirror. Tropical-inspired lamps illuminate the space and a pair of black and white wall lights find their inspiration in the architecture of Adolf Loos.

The second floor houses, among other works, the heat-retaining enamel stoneware objects by young French design duo Marie Piplard and Kelly Eng.

Together, these works contribute to stimulate the aesthetics of the public and contribute to Margherita Ratti's desire to broaden our domestic imaginations in a way that focuses more on composing than on decorating, even if it means being non-conformist.
